Kenwood is a Georgian villa on the edge of Hampstead Heath, combining an art collection with landscaped grounds that can be explored without an admission charge. Inside are paintings by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Gainsborough, Turner and Constable, including Rembrandt's Self-Portrait with Two Circles. The house also introduces people from its past, including Dido Belle, while family activities offer younger visitors a way into the story. Outside, Humphry Repton's parkland extends through lawns, woodland and views towards the lake, with cafes providing a pause between house and grounds. Reviewers particularly enjoy the paintings, the library and the knowledgeable volunteers. Leave time for both the indoor collection and a walk, but check temporary closures before choosing a route. Dogs must be on leads across the estate except in West Meadow. Only assistance-dog access is confirmed inside the house, shops and cafes; the wider paths can be uneven after rain.

Admission is free. Advance free booking guarantees entry but is not normally required. House last entry is 16:30 in the current timetable.

The house has step-free entry, but its platform lift to the upper floors and lecture theatre is currently out of order. Paths close to the buildings are paved or gravel; woodland tracks have uneven gradients. Indoor and outdoor wheelchairs can be requested.
