Dartmouth Castle

Open daily 10am-5pm until 24 October 2026, then 10am-4pm from 25 October to 1 November. From 2 November-20 December 2026, open Saturday, Sunday 10am-4pm. Check the official calendar for holidays, later dates and event exceptions.

Last entry normally 30 minutes before closing.

EH members receive free standard admission with their membership card. National Trust membership alone does not cover admission. Advance booking is optional for ordinary admission; check special events separately.

Very restricted wheelchair access: uneven slopes and steps throughout, narrow steep spiral stairs and four steps into the shop. No lift or accessible toilet. One accessible bay in the independently managed car park. Leave pushchairs at the top of the site as advised by EH.

Parking: Limited public pay-and-display parking beside the entrance, not managed by EH; membership does not cover this car park. Current tariff not confirmed. Approach roads are narrow. Follow EH's current roadworks directions via Weeke Hill and Castle Road.

It includes streets, woodland paths, ascent/descent and steps. Public route access is separate from castle admission; town parking is charged separately. Keep dogs controlled and follow local signs, particularly at cliffs, livestock and any beach access. Detailed route-specific seasonal dog exclusions were not confirmed.
