Eastbury Manor House is an Elizabethan gentry house built around 1573 in Barking, east London, remarkably surviving amid 20th-century suburban development. The red-brick H-plan house retains original features including an unusual turret staircase, a painted chamber and a walled courtyard garden. The house has links to the Gunpowder Plot, as conspirator Lord Monteagle lived nearby.
