House & GardenLondonEnglish Heritage4.4
Ranger's House is a Georgian villa beside Greenwich Park, familiar to many visitors as the exterior of the Bridgerton family home. Inside, the attraction is Sir Julius Wernher's collection of nearly 700 works of art, assembled with the wealth of a diamond magnate and an eye for intricate craftsmanship. Dutch paintings, Renaissance bronzes, silver, jewellery and tapestries fill the rooms, with smaller objects inviting a slow, close look. Reviewers value the knowledgeable volunteers and suggest checking the calendar carefully, as the house opens only on selected dates. There is a small garden for a picnic, but no refreshments service inside. The upper floors have no step-free access while the interior chairlift is out of service, so visitors with reduced mobility should contact the house beforehand. Pet dogs on leads are allowed in the garden only.
Interior chairlift is out of service, so visitors with limited mobility can access only the ground floor. Contact the house on 02088 530 035 to discuss arrangements; upper floors have stairs. No interior photography or pushchairs.
